Copyright is a form of intellectual property protection for a variety of literary and artistic endeavours. Everyone who has used the internet has at one time or another copied material illegally. This is due to the popular misconception, that once material is posted to the internet it can be freely copied: this not the case. Unless the author of the material has stated that is available for public use, then permission has to be obtained from the author for the material to be used.
File sharing sites, is another issue that …

Some of the changes to society caused by communication systems include ATMs, EFTPOS, Bpay, voice mail, mobile phones, email, video conferencing, telecommuting and accessing information from the Internet. Some of the concerns include privacy, security, accuracy of data, changing nature of work, offensive material on the Internet, information overload and electronic junk mail.

The Connected Learning Awards are run by the NSW DET to provide students with opportunities to engage with real-life situations, where they can develop skills in communicating, collaborating, self-directed learning, problem solving, researching and publishing their findings. This year’s theme is ‘Earth’. The open nature of the theme allows students to include work from a range of KLAs in any way they wish. I’m very pleased with the entries.
